Walk the Plank


Equipment

Two 6 metre by 5 cm planks or boards,
Eight lengths of rope or twine about a metre and half long

Game Description

Two or more teams race on two planks to a pre established finish line.

This game builds team work as the team leader should provide cadence (a rythm) since lifting a plank together is the key to moving fast.

Lay the planks about 1/3 metre apart and tie off a rope every 30-40 cm apart so that the players can bend over slightly and grab the rope and consequently lift the plank.

The team members step on both planks, grab the ropes and lift one plank first, take a step forward and then the other plank. Obstacles add to the excitement (danger) and teams can either race each other or may be timed over the course.
